Biba Caggiano moved to Sacramento in 1969 when her husband joined
a medical practice. At that time Sacramento was a pleasant
laid-back city, but lacked restaurant diversity, especially those
serving quality Italian food. After a couple of years of making
exquisite meals for family and friends, and writing several
award-winning cookbooks, Biba opened her now famous Italian
restaurant. Since then, Biba Restaurant has received glowing
reviews with Gourmet Magazine, Travel and Leisure, Conde’ Nast
Travelers and the Wine Spectator.
Located in midtown Sacramento, Paragary’s Bar and Oven was the
first Sacramento restaurant to introduce a style of cooking based
on local, seasonal products, over 25 years ago. The cooking of
northern Italy and southern France inspires simple preparations
from the wood burning oven and charcoal grill. The full bar and
compact wine list of mostly Northern California varietals
complements the frequently changing menu.
